Approach

A unique feature of the Center for Interpersonal Relations is that we use co-therapy for most couples and family therapy. It is our experience that couples and family issues include individual issues as well as communication issues among the family members. With the use of two therapists we are able to provide a flexible combination of individual and couples/family sessions.

We believe in having clients collaborate with counselors in establishing and implementing goals. This includes deciding jointly on the mix of individual/couples/family sessions. A time-limited contract, usually 3-12 sessions, may be negotiated.

We utilize a holistic approach employing the perspectives of individuals and families in their total environment. We work collaboratively with other professionals as needed by clients.
